 Rich Man, Poor Man


A letter reached with 100 pound check to an old man from his son. He was couldn't read the letter, so he got some help from teacher. Then, he takes a bus to a post office of the city to make money for the check, but he was turned away because didn't have his ID card. And He went to a public office to made his ID card, but he was told that he need his photo. And then, he went to photo studio, took a ID photo, paid 2 pound, and was told that it would be done tomorrow. The next day, he went to the photo studio, but a man of the shop said I didn't know a ID photo. The old man got angry and struck him with a cane. It was uproar, and he was taken to police. Then, a minister listened that story, he introduced a personage of the city to the old man. The old man went to the city again to meet a personage. He arrived at a personage's house, but a personage said "this check have no worth, but I like to help people, so I'll exchange money for this check." However, the money that a personage exchanged was 10 pound.

 The Signalman and The Ghost at the Trial The two stories in this book are ghost stories.  The Signalman is about railway. The man who likes railway listened the story that a fatal accident happen when you see a figure near the tunnel from the signalman.
