 Bad Love Detective Flick was invited to the party at Judy's house who is his friend, and he met Jack there. Jack is a doctor who works at the same University of Colorado Hospital in Denver as Judy and they had good impression each other. At a later date, Jack called Flick to meet again on Friday. However, Jack was found dead on Wednesday. At first, it was presumed to be suicide, but the view prevailed that it was a murder because of Jack was left-handed and he promised to meet Flick. At first, I thought this book was love story, but it was mystery.

 John Doe A man was found on the street, and taken to hospital. He was unable to tell the doctor who he is, or where he lived, but has he really lost his memory? Doctor didn't know his name, so he came to be called John Doe by doctors. The doctor tried to find out what he was, but he didn't answer the doctor's questions. Then the doctor will know important facts about John Doe after he discharged. 

 The Signalman and The Ghost at the Trial The two stories in this book are ghost stories.  The Signalman is about railway. The man who likes railway listened the story that a fatal accident happen when you see a figure near the tunnel from the signalman. Actually, an accident happened a year and a half year ago before he saw a figure. Moreover, he said he saw a new figure again... The story, The Ghost at the Trial, was first called 'A Trial Murder'. The story is about a trial in famous law court in London - the Old Bailey. Often, George Fotherley looks out of the window of his sitting-room. There are always people in the street outside his apartment. One day, two man walking fast attracted his eye through the window of the room. They stopped in front of the Fotherley's house, looked up at the window, stared at Fortherley, and walked away again. Later, Fotherley is elected as a jury of a murder trial. When the trial begins, he often sees a mysterious figure...

 The Trumpet-Major In 1804, Britain and France were at war. There were two men, one was John Loveday who blowing the trumpet, the other was Robert Loveday who was sailor. Ann Garland lived Robert sine she was little. But He about to get married with woman not Anne. On the other hand, John liked Anne. Also, Festus Derriman appeared and got attracted to Anne. One day, the woman who about to get to married escaped from John. Therefor John came to spend more time with Anne, so he was starting to like her more and more.
